1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference website operating independently of government. It does not hold official criminal records, submit filings, retrieve government documents, or conduct official background checks.

Its content directs readers to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the county courts, the Pennsylvania State Police Central Repository, and the Pennsylvania State Police Megan's Law Public Website. Some pages also connect visitors with outside tools that may assist their research.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, each visitor agrees not to:

• Interfere with access to the website or reduce its performance
• Deploy a bot, scraper, or other automated process against the pages
• Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or restricted area
• Use site content for a hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decision
• Stalk, threaten, or harass a person with information found here
• Violate federal, Pennsylvania, or local law through use of the site

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information from this website or a linked tool to intimidate, stalk, threaten, harass, or discriminate against another person. Such conduct may also violate the law. This restriction is especially important for data from the Pennsylvania State Police Megan's Law Public Website, which is published under 42 Pa.C.S. Chapter 97, Subchapter H for public-safety awareness. Registry information must not be turned into vigilantism, harassment, or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Jefferson County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not prepare a consumer report, credit report, or background check. Its advertising partners likewise are not presented as services for evaluating applicants, renters, credit, or insurance. Information from this site or a linked tool must not be used to:

• Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA
• Decide eligibility for a government benefit, permit, or license
• Set an insurance rate or assess creditworthiness
• Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
• Make an employment decision

A legally permissible check for a regulated purpose must be obtained through an authorized, FCRA-compliant provider or the proper official Pennsylvania State Police process.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Jefferson County charge, warrant, conviction, Clean Slate restriction, or expungement rule applies to one person's facts. A licensed Pennsylvania attorney should address those questions.

6. No Warranties

Pennsylvania law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located in Pennsylvania. Public access to Pennsylvania agency records is separately governed by the Right-to-Know Law, 65 P.S. §§ 67.101–67.3104, while dissemination of criminal-history record information is governed by CHRIA, 18 Pa.C.S. §§ 9101–9183.

14. Severability
